PHASE 1: SITE ANALYSIS, BUILDING REQUIREMENT & PRECEDENT STUDY (GROUP TASKS)
The analysis of the project site is to be carried out as a group. Every member of the group is responsible to search for the latest, and accurate information from a reliable source.
Section 1 (Site Analysis)
To require all necessary plans for the development of the proposed project
To produce to scale the overall plan of the site (site boundaries – bearings, lengths, elevations) and its cross-section.
To produce a complete info-graphic of the site analysis based on the 11’s Site Analysis Principles (Location, Neighborhood Context, Zoning and Size, Legal Information, Natural Physical Features, Man-Made Features, Circulation, Utilities, Climate, Sensory, Human and Cultural.)
Section 2 (Building Requirement)
To produce a list of planning and building requirements from the Local Authority guidelines for this site – so, to propose the most suitable location for the site entrance, exit point, and the building footprint.
To produce a list of basic requirements extracted from the Uniform Building By-Laws (UBBL) 1984 and “Garis Panduan Perancangan dan Penubuhan Tadika dan Taska 2017”
To study about anthropometric, ergonomic, early learning development for children
Section 3 (Precedent Study)
To conduct a precedent study covering all existing (either built or proposed) green/sustainable double-story kindergarten (in Malaysia, ASEAN, Asia, and the World) with the short to medium span structure construction.

PHASE 2: PROPOSED DESIGN (INDIVIDUAL TASK)
The New Co-op Kindergarten - 2-Storey Building
To demonstrate knowledge and practice in understanding Early Childhood education philosophies and integrate into architectural intervention. To develop a design concept based on learning principles for young children. To demonstrate an understanding of ergonomics and universal design principles. To experiment in construction detailing that integrates environmental-friendly materials and building services for a 2-story building.

DESIGN STATEMENT :
KARAFURU KINDERGARTEN IS A TROPICAL KINDERGARTEN THAT DESIGN IN POLITEKNIK PORT DICKSON. THIS KINDERGARTEN IS DESIGNED FOR CHILDREN TO PLAY, LEARN AND EXPLORE IN THE SAME TIME.
IDEA AND CONCEPT :
THE IDEA IS FROM ORCHID FLOWER BECAUSE CHILDREN ARE LIKE TINY FLOWERS THEY ARE VARIED AND NEED CARE AND ALSO ORCHID IS A FLOWER WITH A STRONG SYMBOL FOR CHILDREN. GREEN ELEMENT IS THE MAIN ELEMENT FOR THIS KINDERGARTEN AND MANY OPEING SPACE WITH STRATEGIC PLACE FOR A GOOD NATURED COOLING SYSTEM.
MULTI COLOR FACADE AND LOUVERS FOR KIDS TO PLAY AND LEARN IN THE SAME TIME IS THE ONE OF THE CHARACTERISTIC OF ORCHIDS AND ALSO IN THIS BUILDING CAN HELP CHILDREN O EXPLORE MORE ABOUT LIFE BUT IN SAFELY WAY.
THE CONCEPT THAT I GET FROM THE IDEA IS INTERMEDIATE WHICH MEAN IN THE BUILDING HAS BEEN SEPRATE BY 2 ZPNE ( CHOLDREN ZONE AND ADMINE ZONE ). THIS CONCEPT CAN BE SEEN IN PLAN WHICH THE INTERMEDIATE ZONE IS ALSO CAN BE A FUNCIONAL ZONE AND GOOD FOR CROSS VENTILATION.
